| About the Host: | Michele Ciaccio got her BA in Classics in 1996 from the University of Wisconsin at Madison and her AM in Social Science in 1997 from the University of Chicago. She was also in the Classics PhD program at the University of California at Berkeley, where she taught courses in Latin language and Greek civilization. She has expertise in: manuscript editing, Classics and art history. For the past 4 1/2 years, Michele Ciaccio has worked for the Getty Research Institute, first as a research assistant, then as an assistant editor, and now as an associate editor. She edits books on a wide range of art historical topics and assists the head of publications with book development, creating idea and development proposals for the books that have been recommended for publication. In addition, she answers any Greek or Latin language questions both within the publication department and for curators; supervises the research assistants, training them as well as assigning and evaluating their work. |

| About the Host: | Geralyn “Geri” Yoza is the National Car Marketing Manager for the Toyota Division, Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), U.S.A., Inc. Since joining Toyota in 1987, she has held numerous managerial positions From 1990 until 1995, she worked in TLS (vehicle logistics) as Logistics Planning Manager, and then Administration Manager. From 1995 until 1997, Ms. Yoza worked in the Corporate Planning Department as Strategic Planning Manager for Alternative Fuel Vehicles, where she developed the marketing strategy for the RAV4-EV, CNG Camry, and implemented the Prius family demo program. From 1998 until 200, she worked in the Marketing Department, Vehicle Operations Group as Prius Product Manager, responsible for coordinating the hybrid electric vehicle launch and developing and implementing Toyota’s U.S. sales, marketing, and service strategies for the Prius. Since 2002, Ms. Yoza has been responsible for Toyota Division’s passenger car line-up marketing strategy and sales planning, including vehicle launches. Prior to joining Toyota, Ms. Yoza was the Market Research Manager for Cresap, McCormick & Paget, a management consulting firm in Chicago. She received her AB in Biological Sciences in 1981 and her MBA in Marketing in 1987, both from the University of Chicago. |

| About the Host: | John Wiseman has expertise in Film Production and Post Production. He is Vice President for the department of Post Production at Paramount Vantage, the specialty arm of Paramount Pictures. Most recently he has been overseeing post for the Paramount Vantage and Classics divisions, which includes Budgeting, Scheduling, hiring crews, negotiating vendor contracts, etc., and generally supervising all aspects of the post production process for all feature films, documentaries, and special projects. Some of the projects currently in post, or in development are: THERE WILL BE BLOOD (directed by P.T. Anderson); KITE RUNNER; MARC PEASE EXPERIENCE (starring Ben Stiller and Jason Schwarzman) and THE GOODS. Currently in theaters: INTO THE WILD (directed by Sean Penn); NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN (directed by the Coen brothers); A MIGHTY HEART and MARGOT AT THE WEDDING. Mr. Wiseman worked in production and development for five years and for the past 16 years has been handling post production for Paramount Pictures. | About the Organiztion: | JPL is a Federally Funded Research and Development Center, managed for NASA by the California Institute of Technology. JPL’s charter includes development, design and fabrication of robotic spacecraft for solar system exploration; space science (astronomy, astrophysics, cosmology, environmental chemistry/physics, etc.) for analysis of data collected by spacecraft; and development, design and fabrication of instruments to collect science data on spacecraft. The Electronic Nose project is a small instrument designed to be used in the crew area of spacecraft and other space habitats as an air quality monitor. | About the Host: | Margaret Amy Ryan received a PhD in Physical Chemistry from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, with a focus on semiconductor electrochemistry and photoelectrochemistry. She also holds a BS in Chemistry from Metropolitan State College in Denver and an AB in History from the University of Chicago. She is now a Principal Member of the Technical Staff in the Power and Sensor Systems Section at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena CA. Before coming to JPL in 1989, she worked at the French National Laboratory (CNRS) in Meudon, France, at Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley MA, and at the Solar Energy Research Center in Golden CO. Her work has included research and development of chemical sensors and sensing systems for air quality monitoring, development and studies of materials and processes for direct thermal to electric energy conversion, and materials and cells for solar energy conversion. In the area of thermal-to-electric energy conversion at JPL, Ms. Ryan has worked on electrochemical deposition of semiconductors for thermoelectric applications and has led the effort in development of thermoelectric nanowires, both for power conversion and for chemical sensing applications. She came to JPL to work in development of materials and studies of mechanisms of operation and degradation for the Alkali Metal Thermal to Electric Converter (AMTEC), and worked on AMTEC for several years. She has also worked in the field of sensitized metal oxide solar cells and maintains a collaboration with the CNRS in development of nanostructured solar cells. |
